Rev. John Johnson 

John Johnson self-describes as a “late-in-life” pastor following career(s) in international manufacturing, including owning his own company. “In 1995 I threw up my hands and said, ‘I give, God!’ And went to seminary.”  

 

John recently served as the Pastor of Desert Hope Church in Florence, Arizona for the past 16 years. He also served churches in Illinois and Indiana before moving to Florida to be closer to family.

John now resides in Parrish, Fl and is married to Patricia. His late wife, Carol, was the mother of his two adult sons, both of whom are married with two daughters each, and they have one great grandchild.

John has degrees in Engineering Physics (B.S.) and Physics (M.S.) from the University of Illinois. He obtained a J.D. from the University of Chicago Law School and became a member of the Illinois Bar (though working for US Steel in Pittsburgh).John has traveled extensively around the world for both business and pleasure, lifts weights for fitness, enjoys music, theater and books. He believes the most important food group is chocolate chip cookies. He is a diehard fan of his University of Illinois football and basketball teams, the Chicago White Sox, and the Buffalo Bills (Buffalo is one of several places he lived while growing up). He and Patricia now enjoy spoiling their two standard poodles, Oliver and Wendell.
